Historical Print Shop

Grafiche dell’ Artiere is creating a historical print shop with presses from the 19th and early 20th centuries which the company has built up over the years. A project born out of our passion for printing and a desire to retrace the historical steps made in publishing right up to the present day. Our collection of antique print presses going back to the mid 19th century, collected over the years by Gianni Gamberini, will be made available to designers, artists and those

with the desire to rediscover and reinvent the world of print communications. This project represents a commitment to bring our printing culture beyond the company’s boundaries by organising events in schools to get youngsters involved, workshops to stimulate creativity, imagination and inspiration, and giving enthusiasts the possibility, after a short course, to create their own project or work themselves.

The experience of working in close contact with this kind of machinery recreates an evocative world of imagination in which machinery and craftsmen take the lead roles in a path towards the evolution of communication over time. Retracing moments in history, savouring the passion of the craftsmen who worked with paper and bringing it to today’s generations: this is what our project is all about.
